Week 47 : Body – Haley Blais

I know it seems like we just jumped in time; it's suddenly week 47. I'll try to catch up on these lost weeks, pinky promise. Anyway, Haley Blais is an indie Canadian singer with an incredibly powerful voice. And it really comes on strong in this particular song.

Don’t ask me any questions about
All the things I’ve done
Don’t ask me any questions about
All the things I’ve done
Don’t ask me any questions about
All the things I’ve done
‘Cause nothing ever changes
‘Cause nothing ever changes

I didn’t choose this song because it fits with the fact that I’ve been away for, like, 8 weeks. Still, don’t ask me any questions.

The dancer in the music video is incredible; she makes me want to go dance in a park still wet from the pouring rain. Sadly, unless someone films you for a music video, people will probably look at you weird if you try out her moves.

I love the contrast between the very soft, almost “forgettable” (not in a mean way) parts of the song and the “don’t ask me any questions” part, which is repeated to a point where it fills your head completely. Remember, people, it’s always in the contrast…

Like I previously said, I’ll try to catch up on all those missing articles, and I’ll be back next week, I promise. Now go dance in a field, but don’t forget your writing prompt:

Which sentence would you repeat in a song to the point of madness ?
